Launching Live Leakage Analysis to detect tire failures in real time

In mining operations, tire failures rarely begin with a dramatic blowout. More often, they start with something almost invisible: a slow pressure leak. The tire continues to perform. The truck keeps moving. Production remains on schedule. Yet beneath the surface, the damage has already begun.

A gradual loss of pressure increases tire stress, accelerates wear, raises operating temperatures, and shortens tire life. By the time conventional monitoring systems detect a problem, the tire may already have suffered irreversible damage.

Recognizing this challenge, we have introduced Live Leakage Analysis in X Tires, a new monitoring capability designed to identify pressure leaks in real time and alert operators before they turn into costly tire failures.

Mining tires are among the most expensive consumable assets in an operation. A mining truck can incur $7M+ in replacement costs over its lifetime. Tire failures rarely happen without warning, the warning simply goes unseen. By monitoring pressure and temperature on every tire in real time and classifying leaks from slow to fast on a live map, we want to enable operators to intervene early,” said Anushka Rawat, Full Stack Developer at SYMX.AI.

Traditional tire monitoring systems typically alert operators only after tire conditions cross predefined thresholds. While effective for identifying severe issues, these systems often detect problems after significant degradation has already taken place. Live Leakage Analysis changes that approach.

The new capability continuously analyzes pressure trends, temperature behavior, and tire operating conditions to identify patterns associated with leakage events. Instead of waiting for pressure to reach a critical level, the system looks for subtle indicators that suggest a leak is developing and alerts the operators.

Live Leakage Analysis to turn data into actionable insights

The Live Leakage Analysis dashboard provides operators with a centralized view of tire health across the fleet.

Key insights include:

  • Real-time pressure leak detection
  • Temperature trend analysis
  • Tire health monitoring
  • Early warning notifications
  • Fleet-wide leakage visibility

By combining real-time pressure monitoring, temperature analysis, and predictive alerts, Live Leakage Analysis enables mining operators to move from reactive maintenance to proactive tire management. The solution is designed to help extend tire life, reduce unplanned downtime, and improve the overall efficiency of mining fleets.
